"The officers of Congress may come upon you now, fortified with all the terrors of paramount federal authority. Excisemen may come in multitudes; for the limitation of their numbers no man knows. They may, unless the general government be restrained by a bill of rights, or some similar restriction, go into your cellars and rooms, and search, ransack, and measure, every thing you eat, drink, and wear. They ought to be restrained within proper bounds." -- Patrick Henry (1736-1799), Debates in the Virginia Convention on the Adoption of the Federal Constitution, June 14, 1788

COMMENTARY:   Are you unhappy that John McCain will apparently be the Republican nominee? Me too, BUT, consider what will happen if your unhappiness leads you to not vote in the upcoming election.  If enough conservatives do that then the next President will be Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, and both of them will be even worse because both of them are very close to being outright Marxists.  If you say you are a conservative then stand up and vote for the candidate who most closely fits your values.  If you are truly a conservative that means voting for John McCain if his opponent is either Clinton or Obama.  If enough conservatives decide to not vote at all then the liberals will win.  It is just that simple.  Conservatives must vote!!!

But there is something that is even more important than voting for a Presidential candidate.  That is voting for the candidates for US Congress.  The president cannot pass any legislation without the approval of Congress, but Congress can approve legislation without the approval of the President.  That means the most important objective is to see to it that as many conservatives as possible are elected to Congress.
