"The accumulation of all power, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, self-appointed, or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny." -- James Madison (1751-1836), The Federalist Papers 1788

A warning against permitting politicians to remain in office more than one or two terms.

COMMENTARY:  I heard a suggestion the other day that I think is worth considering.  The idea is to ignore the candidates who are recommended to us by the major parties and instead urge people who we know to be intelligent, honest, and informed, to run for office.  The idea is to remove from office people whose main concern is the seeking of power.  Could only result in improving the political scene couldn't it?

WOW!  LOOK AT THIS!  Arizona, Missouri, Washington and New Hampshire stand up for the Constitution and States Rights.  The federal government was established by the states and is supposed to have only those powers delegated to it by the states, and none others.  Recent trends, especially by liberal factions, have been toward reversing those powers.  Perhaps it is time for us to tell Congress to adhere to the provisions outlined in the Constitution.  Suggest you pass this around and tell your states representatives to enact similar legislation:

The CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) was enacted by the Carter Administration and expanded by the Clinton Administration.  It is the reason Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and other mortgage companies were forced into making ever more questionable loans.  The eventual result is the financial crisis we see today.  Chris Dodd and Barney Frank were the prime movers behind that fiasco and Frank continues to defend and push the concepts of the CRA to this very day.  Indeed, Frank. in an attempt to continue the fiasco submitted the Hope for Homeowners bill which the Dems passed.  It has turned out to be another failure:

Are you unhappy with the way many things are going in the USA?  If you are then let your elected representatives hear from you.  Our nation is a "representative republic."  In other words a nation where our legislators are supposed to represent your wishes, but, if you don't let them hear from you how are they supposed to know what things concern you?  Generally liberals are more group oriented than are conservatives, and tend to be more activist in nature. That's why things in our country have been becoming more and more liberal in nature, even though conservatives outnumber the liberals.  Remember, our nation only works as our founders designed it to work if the citizens participate in its operation.
