"There is not a more important and fundamental principle in legislation, than that the ways and means ought always to face the public engagements; that our appropriations should ever go hand in hand with our promises. To say that the United States should be answerable for twenty-five millions of dollars without knowing whether the ways and means can be provided, and without knowing whether those who are to succeed us will think with us on the subject, would be rash and unjustifiable. Sir, in my opinion, it would be hazarding the public faith in a manner contrary to every idea of prudence." -- James Madison (1751-1836), Speech in Congress, April 22, 1790

(An admonition that seems to be completely ignored these days, especially by liberals)

A recipe for disaster.  The Democrats keep pushing for universal health care but they use only numbers of the uninsured when talking about the load to be placed on the medical system.  Question!  Will the 65-80% of the people who currently pay for their own health insurance continue to pay thousands of dollars a year for the insurance when health care would be free under universal health care?  Will businesses continue to provide insurance for their employees when it would be free under universal health care?  Obviously, in both cases, the answer is, "no."  Now here is the problem the Democrats fail to mention.  They use data and numbers of only the currently uninsured and the certain result will be a patient load demand about three times as large as the numbers the politicians are using:

Democrats add another $524,000,000 to military spending in pure pork earmarks for their friends back home, BUT, these are for items the Pentagon doesn't want or need.  Next election period count on these same Democrats to complain about the, "bloated military budget.":

The Democrats like to point out the fact that there was a budget surplus when Bill Clinton left office and that it was under G W Bush that a deficit occurred.  That's true!  BUT!  It takes a bit of time for the economy to react to changes in government policy.  Now have a look at this chart from the Congressional Budget Office.  Note that the change in the direction of government spending had already changed direction for the better when Bill Clinton came into office, and that it had already changed direction for the worse before he left office.  Clinton did NOT give us a surplus.  It was his administration that killed it and sent us in the opposite direction:

Are you unhappy with the way many things are going in the USA?  If you are then let your elected representatives hear from you.  Our nation is a "representative republic."  In other words a nation where our legislators are supposed to represent your wishes, but, if you don't let them hear from you how are they supposed to know what things concern you?  Generally liberals are more group oriented than are conservatives, and tend to be more activist in nature. That's why things in our country have been becoming more and more liberal in nature, even though conservatives outnumber the liberals.  Remember, our nation only works as our founders designed it to work if the citizens participate in its operation.
