To upset you!  To anger you!

To show you enough of the abuses of liberalism that you will get involved.

To encourage you to contact your elected representatives and object.

"The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable to government on certain occasions that I wish it always to be kept alive.  It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all" -- Thomas Jefferson (1743 – 1826), Letter to Abigail Adams, February 22, 1787

"By gnawing through a dike, even a rat may drown a nation."  - Edmond Burke

"The free man will ask neither what his country can do for him nor what he can do for his country." – Milton Friedman

The people must also be self-assertive. They must have the spirit of the old Revolutionary War flag: "Don't tread on me!" They must be vigilant against those, at home or abroad, in or out of government, who might wish to trample on their rights. They must be courageous and manly, with a sense of honor, so that in hard times they will stand up and fight, and not slink away slavishly so as to avoid trouble and danger.

Thomas G. West and Douglas A. Jeffrey, The Rise & Decline of Constitutional Government in America

The most important moral of all is that excellence is where you find it. I would extend this generalization to cover not just higher education but all education from vocational high school to graduate school. We must learn to honor excellence, indeed to demand it in every socially accepted human activity, however humble that activity, and to scorn shoddiness, however exalted the activity. An excellent plumber is infinitely more admirable than an incompetent philosopher. The society which scorns excellence in plumbing because plumbing is a humble activity and tolerates shoddiness in philosophy because philosophy is an exalted activity will have neither good plumbing nor good philosophy. Neither its pipes nor its theories will hold water. --- John William Gardner (1912 - )

Crazy statement?  Perhaps, but bear with me for a moment.

Let's start buy have a quick look at some of the people Obama has appointed as Czars (or perhaps "commissars" would be a better choice).

In 1977, John Holdren, Obama's Science Czar, wrote a book in which, among other things, he proposed:
>>> Women could be forced to abort their pregnancies, whether they wanted to or not;
>>> The population at large could be sterilized by infertility drugs intentionally put into the nation's drinking water or in food;
>>> Single mothers and teen mothers should have their babies seized from them against their will and given away to other couples to raise;
>>> People who "contribute to social deterioration" (i.e. undesirables) "can be required by law to exercise reproductive responsibility" -- in other words, be compelled to have abortions or be sterilized.
>>> A transnational "Planetary Regime" should assume control of the global economy and also dictate the most intimate details of Americans' lives -- using an armed international police force.

Carol M. Browner, President-elect Barack Obama's pick as Global Warming Czarina, was listed as one of 14 leaders of a socialist group's Commission for a Sustainable World Society, which calls for "global governance" and says rich countries must shrink their economies to address climate change.

 Cass Sunstein, the Harvard University Law School professor tapped by Obama to be the Czar of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, has a secret aim to push a radical animal-rights agenda in the White House. Sunstein supports outlawing sport hunting, giving animals the legal right to file lawsuits, and using government regulations to phase out meat consumption.  Sunstein wrote in his 2004 book "Animal Rights: Current Debates and New Directions" that "animals should be permitted to bring lawsuits, with human beings as their representatives … Any animals that are entitled to bring suit would be represented by (human) counsel, who would owe guardian-like obligations and make decisions, subject to those obligations, on their clients' behalf."
Green Jobs Czar Van Jones  is a self proclaimed communist, who worked as a black radical and has a long history as a left coast community organizer and anarchist. In 1992, Jones rioted after the Rodney King verdict and was arrested. Instead of changing his ways and becoming a law abiding citizen, Jones was “radicalized in jail.” Upon his release, Jones started a utopian organization that advocated communism and central planning. Eventually, he became a proponent for extreme environmentalism and “green jobs

Steven Rattner, Barack  Obama's Car Czar - ordered GM into bankruptcy and ignored and debased contract law by negating the concept of preferred stock vs common stock.

Okay, that's enough for now.  The point is that most (if not all) of his "Czar" appointments are or have been self described committed, and/or admitted, socialists/progressives/communists.

Now let's consider what happens when we vote for our Congressmen.  Supposedly they go to Washington DC to represent the wishes of their constituents (that's you and me).  If they do indeed do that then there is no problem.  BUT.... consider what happens when Obama appoints Czars that have the power to either change what Congress intended, or put into place rules and procedures that Congress never intended.  That means that one man (or woman) has negated the purpose of Congress as defined in the US Constitution.  It also possibly means that one person has the power to effectively overturn or ignore the rulings on the United States Supreme Court.  If one person can make ineffectual whatever Congress or the Supreme Court does then what has happened to the value of your vote?  If a Congressman goes to Washington to represent your concerns and wishes, and votes in consideration of your concerns and wishes, but then one person can negate whatever your Congressman does, then hasn't your vote become superfluous?  Hasn't it become worthless?  Doesn't it have essentially the same effect as if the contents of all ballot boxes and voting machines were tossed into an incinerator before they were counted?  Of course it does.  Well, that's exactly what Obama has put into place with his three dozen or so Czars.  Just one more gift brought to us by Mr. "hope and change."

The Obama Administration is taking the value of your vote from you and if you don't like it you had better get busy and tell your Congressmen to put a stop to it.  If you don't push back the Obama supporters will note the absence of opposition and we can expect them to bring us even worse things in the future.

- G. T. Baker

We've got to quit saying that a large percentage of our citizens pay no taxes.  That may be true if we are talking about taxes paid on our IRS forms 1040, BUT, it really isn't true at all.  Boy is it not true, and those at the bottom that they are paying a larger percentage of their income than any other income group.  How so?  Inflation! (see:

Since Obama has been elected the cost of food at the grocery store has gone up 30-50% depending upon where you live, and the cost of almost everything else has gone up too.  The thing to realize is that the price of goods and services hasn't really increased.  It only looks like an increase in prices because the value of the dollars in our wallets has been debased by our government increasing the amount of money in circulation that hasn't been derived from the collection of taxes or revenues.  The government has just printed more dollar bills willy nilly.  Where did the lost value go?  To the government!!!!!!  If the lost value of our currency went to the government someone please tell me how that isn't a tax.

The lost value of our currency hits those at the lowest income levels the hardest because it amounts to a larger percentage of their income than it does for those at higher income levels.  We must stop using the platitude that "those at the lowest income levels pay no taxes."  IT ISN'T TRUE, and it isn't true to a very high degree, and we had better start convincing those at the lower income levels how government deficit spending is hurting them.... not helping them.

How many Czars will there be?:

Do you like driving on the highways with 18-wheelers?  What if they were up to twice as long and up to 25% heavier.  No?  Well, that's what some in the shipping industry are pushing for.  Many independent truckers think it is a terrible idea and here's what they are saying about it.  This is a good topic to bring up in your daily conservations and to tell your Congressmen about if you don't like the proposal:

Outright dishonesty!  There is a section in the Democrats health care bill which says,  "There shall be no administrative or judicial review of a payment rate or methodology established under this section or under section 224 (Modernized Payment Initiatives and Delivery System Reform.).  In other words, if the federal government sets a payment rate that a doctor or hospital thinks is too low, there is nothing you can do about it, short of an Act of Congress. No court, not even the Supreme Court would be allowed to review those decisions.:

The healthcare bill also says:  "Amounts appropriated under this section, and outlays flowing from such appropriations, shall not be taken into account for purposes of any budget enforcement procedures including allocations under section 302(a) and (b) of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act and budget resolutions for fiscal years during which appropriations are made from the Fund," it says under "Budgetary Implications."  That says the money spent under this section shouldn't be counted as a cost of the program:

More on the Democrat healthcare bill:

Dishonest Dems!  The Democrats have been mailing out "franked" mail at government expense is support of Obama'[s healthcare program.  They have also blocked Republicans from using the "franked" privilege for mailouts in opposition to the program:

All by itself Obabacare would create 53 new boards, bureaucracies, commissions, and programs:

By the numbers - the Democrat's healthcare bill:

False advertising:

Seems like the Obama Administration doesn't agree with Lincoln.
Rather, they seem to have adopted the philosophy of:

Are you unhappy with the way many things are going in the USA?  If you are then let your elected representatives hear from you.  Our nation is a "representative republic."  In other words a nation where our legislators are supposed to represent your wishes, but, if you don't let them hear from you how are they supposed to know what things concern you?  Generally liberals are more group oriented than are conservatives, and tend to be more activist in nature. That's why things in our country have been becoming more and more liberal in nature, even though conservatives outnumber the liberals.  Remember, our nation only works as our founders designed it to work if the citizens participate in its operation.
