To upset you!  To anger you!
To show you enough of the abuses of liberalism that you will get involved.
To encourage you to contact your elected representatives and object.

"Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear.  ~ Harry S. Truman

"That erroneous assumption is to the effort that the aim of public education is to fill the young of the species with knowledge and awaken their intelligence… Nothing could be further from the truth. The aim of public education is not to spread enlightenment at all; it is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed and train a standardized citizenry, to put down dissent and originality. That is its aim in the United States, whatever the pretensions of politicians, pedagogues, and other such mountebanks, and that is its aim everywhere else." ~ H. L. Mencken, The American Mercury, April, 1924

"By gnawing through a dike, even a rat may drown a nation."  - Edmond Burke

"The free man will ask neither what his country can do for him nor what he can do for his country." – Milton Friedman

The people must also be self-assertive. They must have the spirit of the old Revolutionary War flag: "Don't tread on me!" They must be vigilant against those, at home or abroad, in or out of government, who might wish to trample on their rights. They must be courageous and manly, with a sense of honor, so that in hard times they will stand up and fight, and not slink away slavishly so as to avoid trouble and danger.

Thomas G. West and Douglas A. Jeffrey, The Rise & Decline of Constitutional Government in America

The most important moral of all is that excellence is where you find it. I would extend this generalization to cover not just higher education but all education from vocational high school to graduate school. We must learn to honor excellence, indeed to demand it in every socially accepted human activity, however humble that activity, and to scorn shoddiness, however exalted the activity. An excellent plumber is infinitely more admirable than an incompetent philosopher. The society which scorns excellence in plumbing because plumbing is a humble activity and tolerates shoddiness in philosophy because philosophy is an exalted activity will have neither good plumbing nor good philosophy. Neither its pipes nor its theories will hold water. --- John William Gardner (1912 - )

Have you noted the inconsistancies in the understanding of the way our government operates and those of our citizens who have graduated from our secondary schools anytime in the last 50 years or less?  Time was that there were courses in our schools like American History, Civics, Government, Economics, Personal and Public Finance, Ethics, etc, AND, that most of the time those were not electives, they were mandatory, BUT, ask a recent high school graduate if he/she had taken any of those courses and you will find out that more than likely their school system didn't even offer them anymore, much less make them mandatory.  That has led to an almost universal beliefs in our younger generations that the USA is a Democracy, not a Republic..... that the President, not Congress, is responsible for government spending, and a host of educational knowledge that benefit progressives, liberals, communists and Democrats by their absence.

Is it really bad? Yes, in some places the only word to describe it is horrible. Sounds like scare tactics doesn't it. Let's see now. How to know for sure? The people who are on the front line of the education system should know. In other words the teachers should know. Well, it so happens that one heck of a lot of public school teachers, for whatever reason, refuse to send their own children to public schools...... they send them to private schools. In a few places over half the public school teachers send their own children to private schools. If that doesn't say it all, what does?

Whose fault is it? If you are a conservative it is yours!!!

If you are conservative and have not run for your local school board, or encouraged and supported other conservatives to do so, it is yours.

If you have not contacted your elected officials at all levels and urged them to appoint conservatives to appointed positions in the education system, it is yours.

If you are a conservative and you have not actively worked to get yourself or other conservatives into decision making positions in the education system you have abrogated the accompanying decision making authority to the liberals.

That is indeed what has been happening over the last few decades and we are now reaping the whirlwind of students who cannot do simple math; can't speak, read, or write in good english; and students who know so little of the history of the United States that they have no idea of what is required to keep a free nation free.

I am as serious as I can be about the major reason for the current state of sorry affairs being that conservatives have abrogated the responsibility for public education to the liberals.

In order to turn it around conservatives must again become involved in public education at all levels from local boards on up as high as possible. Conservative mothers, fathers, uncles, aunts, grannys, grandpas, and college students MUST run for local boards and make their viewpoints once again the norm.

All (or nearly all) state education boards have a Textbook Advisory Committee. These committees make decisions on what textbooks will be used within their jurisdictions. In the larger states these committees (especially the more liberal ones) tell the textbook publishers what they want to have added or deleted from a textbook brfore they will recommend it to their state boards. Because the larger states purchase such large quantities of textbooks the publishers have no recourse but to comply if they wish to remain in business. That is how liberals have managed to get some of the most outrageous and deviant mantras into school curriculae. A side effect of this is that states with smaller populations often end up having to use textbooks which contain points of view with which they don't agree because the publishers won't alter the content to suit the desires of states who only place orders for a relatively small number of books. Thus does the liberal philosophy become infused into even the most remote areas of our country.

This is where we conservatives must begin. By whatever the means we must see that we become the majority in every state's Textbook Advisory Committee.... even 100% of the committee if possible.

It can be turned around, but to make it do so you must get involved.

Don't let the progressives, liberals,  communists and Democrats continue to drive the USA into history's trash heap.

Dems say the protestors are being professionally organized, BUT, look at the commercially printed t-shirts and signs (like ACORN) at liberal protest marches vs all the homemade signs at conservative protests.  Nuff said?

Are you unhappy with the way many things are going in the USA?  If you are then let your elected representatives hear from you.  Our nation is a "representative republic."  In other words a nation where our legislators are supposed to represent your wishes, but, if you don't let them hear from you how are they supposed to know what things concern you?  Generally liberals are more group oriented than are conservatives, and tend to be more activist in nature. That's why things in our country have been becoming more and more liberal in nature, even though conservatives outnumber the liberals.  Remember, our nation only works as our founders designed it to work if the citizens participate in its operation.
