"IF THIS BE SEDITION, MAKE THE MOST OF IT!" (with apologies to Patrick Henry)

"If Congress can employ money indefinitely to the general welfare, and are the sole and supreme judges of the general welfare, they may take the care of religion into their own hands; they may appoint teachers in every State, county and parish and pay them out of their public treasury; they may take into their own hands the education of children, establishing in like manner schools throughout the Union; they may assume the provision of the poor; they may undertake the regulation of all roads other than post-roads; in short, every thing, from the highest object of state legislation down to the most minute object of police, would be thrown under the power of Congress... Were the power of Congress to be established in the latitude contended for, it would subvert the very foundations, and transmute the very nature of the limited Government established by the people of America." ~ James Madison ~
(rather prescient comment, don't you think..... and..... the main reason that the 17th Amendment to our Constitution must be repealed)

"Men in authority will always think that criticism of their policies is dangerous. They will always equate their policies with patriotism, and find criticism subversive." ~ Henry Steele Commager

"Great nations are simply the operating fronts of behind-the-scenes, vastly ambitious individuals who had become so effectively powerful because of their ability to remain invisible while operating behind the national scenery." ~ Buckminster Fuller

"People who make careers out of helping others -- sometimes at great sacrifice, often not -- usually don't like to hear that those others might get along fine, might even get along better, without their help."
~ John Holt ~ (Would we not now be better off if the Chicago cabal in the White House had stayed home?)

"We've witnessed a fire sale of American liberties at bargain basement prices, in return for the false promise of more security... The America being designed right now won't resemble the America we've been defending... The danger isn't that Big Brother may storm the castle gates. The danger is that Americans don't realize that he is already inside the castle walls." ~ Wayne LaPierre ~ (And this has happened primarily because people of a conservative propensity have for at least the last 50 years have, with little or no opposition, stood by and allowed the liberal-progressives to have their way.  This situation has now progressed to the extent that the fundamental question has become the freedom, or submission to the state, of the individual.  Had enough?  Now are you concerned?  Yes?  Then what are you going to do about it?)

"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." ~ Abraham Lincoln

"Beware the greedy hand of government, thrusting itself into every corner and crevice of industry." ~ Thomas Paine

"I cannot find any authority in the Constitution for public charity, ... [it] would be contrary to the letter and the spirit of the Constitution and subversive to the whole theory upon which the Union of these States is founded." ~ Franklin Pierce ~ (He couldn't find it because it isn't there, and remember that The Constitution was written, not to include a list of prohibitions, but rather, to specify a list of permissions.  If something isn't specified as permitted then it is unconstitutional.... period.)

"It was the Republican Party that demolished the shining city on the hill my father built. It was the Republican Party that was 100 percent responsible for the end of the Reagan Revolution...[T]he Republican Party abandoned the trail leading to that shining city on the hill to become itself a quasi-Left-wing organization which looks at the Democrats’ welfare programs and says ‘me too’." ~ Michael Reagan ~ (This from someone who was there, on the inside, during 'The Reagan Revolution.'  This is the  very reason that voters must send the strongest possible message to politicians at all levels, that the citizens are in charge.... not the politicians.... and the strongest, most decisive way to do that is to NOT re-elect any incumbents.  Vote in all new people.  After all, they couldn't do any worse.)

"To totalitarianism, an opponent is by definition subversive; democracy treats subversives as mere opponents for fear of betraying its principles." ~ Jean-Francois Revel

The Montreal Gazette
June 10, 1926

"There are a sort of highbrow type of self-centered educated persons who form a sort of exclusive aristocracy here, there, and almost everywhere.  What their education has done is to show them how little others know.  They constitute an uppish class that sometimes mistakes itself for an upper class, and is proud to be known as highbrow, and as a highbrow is a degeneraic intellectual aristocrat who is the product of an education that should have made him a liberal.

But it has not done so.  Rather it shows that much learning can be accompanied by bad training, and illustrates and old conclusion that the most learned are not necessarily the best learned.

Sir Robert Falconer
University of Toronto
“A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victim, and he wears their face and their garments and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague.” ~ Marcus Tullius Cicero, 106-43 BC

Could there be any more accurate description of today's Liberal Progressive Democrats?
"By gnawing through a dike, even a rat may drown a nation."  - Edmond Burke
"The free man will ask neither what his country can do for him nor what he can do for his country."  Milton Friedman
The people must also be self-assertive. They must have the spirit of the old Revolutionary War flag: "Don't tread on me!" They must be vigilant against those, at home or abroad, in or out of government, who might wish to trample on their rights. They must be courageous and manly, with a sense of honor, so that in hard times they will stand up and fight, and not slink away slavishly so as to avoid trouble and danger.
Thomas G. West and Douglas A. Jeffrey, The Rise & Decline of Constitutional Government in America
The most important moral of all is that excellence is where you find it. I would extend this generalization to cover not just higher education but all education from vocational high school to graduate school. We must learn to honor excellence, indeed to demand it in every socially accepted human activity, however humble that activity, and to scorn shoddiness, however exalted the activity. An excellent plumber is infinitely more admirable than an incompetent philosopher. The society which scorns excellence in plumbing because plumbing is a humble activity and tolerates shoddiness in philosophy because philosophy is an exalted activity will have neither good plumbing nor good philosophy. Neither its pipes nor its theories will hold water
. --- John William Gardner (1912 - )
Our Founding Fathers were greatly influenced by a rather lengthly treatise on the subject of freedom, The Spirit of Laws, by Charles Louis de Secondat, Baron de Montesquieu, published in 1748.  You can read it for yourself at:

President and Laura Bush routinely greet returning troops.  Obama doesn't.  Within 4 hours President and Laura Bush arrived at Ft Hood after the shooting there to be with the wounded soldiers.  Obama just continued to play golf and didn't go to Ft Hood until 4 days later.  Do you see a pattern there?.  Who do our soldiers like and trust.  Just click on "next" and have a look at their faces.  You'll have your answer:!/photo.php?pid=6897723&id=361997510504&ref=fbx_album&fbid=475595955504

Solutions for America:

Nothing illustrates a society's fundamental philosophies better than does its music.  We all know what's popular today,  BUT....,  is there really much difference compared to they way things were 75-125-200 years ago.  Has our nation really strayed from its founding philosophies?

Well let's start with what Bill Ayers (former Weather Underground terrorist bomber) has done and said.  He has repeatedly said he is not sorry for his past actions and wishes he had done more.  Here is a picture of his opinion of our nation.  Note the surroundings in the picture and consider that he chose that location because that's where he was most comfortable.  Also take into consideration that liberal academia sees nothing wrong with what Ayers did and has even accepted him as a professor at the University of Illinois in Chicago.  When you think of the current Administration and of today's Liberals and Progressives think first of this picture:

OK, now then, have things really changed from the way they used to be?  I can't play the music for you from 100-200 years ago, but in many cases I can show you the covers of the sheet music and that conveys the thoughts as well as does the music itself.  You'll get the idea....;pages=5;range=0-4;pages=4;range=0-3;pages=4;range=0-3;pages=7;range=0-6

Why did I go to all this trouble?  What has all this shown?  If nothing else it shows that previous generations of Americans were unabashedly patriotic, and willing to stand up for America.   Isn't it time that we too stand up for America.... that we no longer accept the liberal progressive naysayers..... that we tell them  to go back where they came from.... that we will stand up for our country?

How much do you and every member of your family owe on the national debt?

Seems like the Obama Administration doesn't agree with Lincoln.
Rather, they seem to have adopted the philosophy of:

Are you unhappy with the way many things are going in the USA?  If you are then let your elected representatives hear from you.  Our nation is a "representative republic."  In other words a nation where our legislators are supposed to represent your wishes, but, if you don't let them hear from you how are they supposed to know what things concern you?  Generally liberals are more group oriented than are conservatives, and tend to be more activist in nature. That's why things in our country have been becoming more and more liberal in nature, even though conservatives outnumber the liberals.  Remember, our nation only works as our founders designed it to work if the citizens participate in its operation.
